SUMMER SEMINAR 2012 Cancelled

Trinity has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Summer Seminar with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, scheduled for June 11-13.  Unfortunately, early enrollment numbers do not indicate enough of a  critical mass to make the event viable.  However, the Spiritual Formation Commission is committed to the topic of intentional living in community, and will continue to find ways to explore this theme in subsequent offerings.  If you have questions, please feel free to be in touch with Canon Nathan LeRud (nathanl@trinity-episcopal.org).

Summer Seminar 2010 CDs and DVDs now available!

Relive this exciting seminar as Marcus Borg and Dom Crossan explore “the surplus of meaning” behind some of the most important words in the Christian language such as God, salvation, justice, prayer, the parables of Jesus, creeds and Eucharistic language. This material dives into why Christian language must be reclaimed, redeemed and liberated from the distorted meanings it has acquitted, bound to conventional domestications.  Marcus Borg and Dom Crossan suggest that the key to setting it free, discussed at this year’s Summer Seminar, is through an historical and metaphorical approach—a parabolic and symbolic understanding of the language itself.

*This year, The Center for Spiritual Development partnered with a student from The Art Institute- Portland to produce this DVD.   To be consistent to the learning curve of a student project while respecting the value of the content of the material, we’ve priced the set accordingly.  A special thank you to student Vik Sklyarov who worked diligently to produce this DVD set.
