EagleFaith on the Edge

Lecture CD: $10

American Christianity is suffering an identity crisis. New scholarship, neighbors and attitudes toward human sexuality have all posed major challenges to traditional Christian self-understanding. Does the way forward lead back to the center, where we may re-commit ourselves to the core articles of our faith, or does it lead to the very edges, where we may be called to re-invent ourselves in order to love as we are loved by God? Barbara Brown Taylor presents her thoughts on living a “Faith on the Edge.”

Woman with RoseRecovering the Mystical Dimension of Faith & Embodied Holiness

Lecture CD: $10

Workshop CD: $30

The American church seems preoccupied with the institutional and intellectual dimensions of faith. In this lecture, Taylor, an elegant thinker and speaker, calls us to a “prophetic mysticism.” In Saturday’s workshop: “Embodied Holiness”, Rev. Taylor examines ways that the body and its senses have been dropped out of many forms of Christian spirituality and how much we have to gain by recovering an incarnate approach to God.
